Life's Lows & MEA Highlights

Part of my MEA was spent in Las Vegas with my sister, and the other part of my MEA break was spent with my mother-in-law deciding the best course of action to take in the final months of her life's journey.  ): Unfortunately, about ten days ago, mom was told that she only has 3-6 months left to live due to her debilitating ILD (interstitial lung disease).  She currently only has 17% of her lung capacity left and is really struggling to breathe even with her oxygen tank.  It has really been hard on the family since it's only been a year since dad passed away.
I was able to fly back early enough to take Mom O. to the hospital for her appointment and be with her during this difficult time.  Her pulmonologist offered hospice.  However, mom decided against it at this point, so on Tuesday we set her up with a program at the hospital called Link to Life.  Now we are praying for her comfort and for peace in her final months.
My sister invited me a year ago to meet her in Las Vegas while she was attending a medical convention, so I joined her for some relaxation and fun in the sun.  It was just what I needed, and we had a blast.

My arrival

The first night out to eat at Benihana...yum!!!!

Our wonderful chef

Our hotel

After a wonderful dinner, it was time to hit the LV strip.

This Bellagio Fountains (a light display on the water ) were amazing and set to music.
It was even featured on a previous episode of The Bachelorette!!

Our awesome TJ's Steakhouse meal...
and then off to the main event....ELTON JOHN at Caesars Palace!!!!!

My sister scored 10th row tickets; I didn't even need to use my zoom lens!!
His set was incredible to say the least.  Notice his piano?  It's his new $1,000,000 Yamaha piano that is synchronized to show the same colors/background as the song that he is playing/singing.

Just in case you want to listen...hit play! :)

"Blue Eyes" was sang and dedicated to Elizabeth Taylor.

"Philadelphia Freedom"
"Circle of Life"
Elton John's concert was the best one that I have been to by far.
WOW, is all that I can say!!
Thanks, sista, for our wonderful tickets and evening!!

On our last night in Vegas, we ate dinner at Emeril's and saw "The Lion King" at Mandalay Bay.
My sister insisted that I order the stuffed lobster.  It was HUGE but so delicious.  She had bacon wrapped scallops and part of my lobster.  It certainly was large enough to share!!  The ambiance was fabulous as well.
What an incredible performance!!!!
If you ever have a chance to see this play, do it!!!  The costumes alone are worth seeing.
It was outstanding and inspiring!!
