Now that I have my nice camera back,
I was able to download and share rest of our pictures from our trip home this summer.
Our Traditional Donut Day
We had such a nice surprise visit from Eva and Irv from Fort Collins, CO. Growing up, I spent a lot of time in Boulder and Fort Collins with them and my other cousins (Eva's parents, who were Holocaust survivors). They were able to spend a few hours with us; it was so nice to see them!!
My mom is really struggling with the late stages of Alzheimer's, so it was great fun to reminisce to Mollie B's Polka Show one night. She and my dad used to do A LOT of dancing together, and she didn't miss a beat that night. It's amazing how the mind works. You would have thought that she goes out dancing every night based on how well those steps came back to her. We danced a total of four polkas together! Such a wonderful memory for the future!

THANKS BE TO GOD for no serious injuries as Darrell was pinned under a four wheeler in a mountain stream filled with boulders. Thanks to the other guys' quick thinking and ability to get the four wheeler off of him in time. There is NO service of any kind where the accident occurred, so it would have been quite a feat getting help to Darrell or getting Darrell to a hospital. The guys couldn't believe that he didn't break his neck or his back. He was quite bruised and sore from the whole ordeal, developed complications on our way home, and developed an infection on top of it. Luckily, his infection has seemed to heal, the bruises have diminished, and his soreness has subsided. We are very lucky!!
